Billing and Payments are managed through www.mymusicstaff.com.  After signing the school policies an email will be sent so that your family account and student portal can be started.  Online payments can be set up in your family account via your student portal.  All payments are automated and due on the 5th of the month.  If there is an issue processing the card on file, you will have until the 10th to resolve it.  After that a $25 late fee will be added to your account.

Missed Lessons

Missed lessons can not be made up or rescheduled if canceled by the student.  Lesson times cannot be made up by another friend or family member.  For students to reach their goals, they need to be at lessons each week and prepared to perform the assignments from the previous lesson.  If the school must cancel a lesson a make up credit will be issued.  Families can schedule and use the make up credit through the student portal of www.mymusicstaff.com.  If you need to cancel a lesson please do so through the student portal.

Preparation

Students are expected to come prepared for lessons.  Lesson time should not be used as practice time.   Students under the age of 7 will need an adult who lives with them at each lesson so they will know how to help their student practice at home.  Students 8-12 should be supervised at home during practice.  At 12, most students are able to practice independently.

 Performance Class

As part of our preparation for recitals, I will hold 2 group performance classes; one before each recital.  These usually happen the Saturday morning before the recital.  We review proper performance etiquette for performers as well as the audience.  The students perform for each other.  This is invaluable preparation for recitals and helps students be ready to play their best in a formal performance experience.

Progress Report

Every month I will send a progress report through the student portal so that we can communicate on things like progress, if the current goals are appropriate, and any concerns you the student or parents might have.  It is also a time for me to be made aware of any changes going on in a student’s life that could affect their goals such as starting another activity, increase in homework, change of work schedule etc.  This is a great opportunity to check in and to highlight all the amazing work our students do!

Summer Lessons

Lessons run year round, including the summer.  While we still provide 4 lessons a month, there is flexibility in scheduling.  If you are going out of town or need to miss a lesson, a makeup lesson can be scheduled another week.

Cancellation Policy

If you would like to leave the school before the end of the year, 30 days notice is required.
